Guess the speed competition where participants will guess the speed of three different aircrafts coming past the wind sock low level and the three closest guesses will win a prize (to take place directly after Club meeting of 20 minutes)

Paraphernalia auction: Quick auction where attendees will get the opportunity to buy flying paraphernalia at a bargain! (Will start at 17:30) (All the profits will be used to install and upgrade the children’s’ play area in front of the club house.) Soup and Bread will be served form 18:30

Om Avgas verkope ‘n hupstoot te gee en die koste struktuur te vereenvoudig, kondig ons die volgende nuwe struktuur aan: In an attempt to simplify our billing of Avgas for members and non-members, as well as to boost Avgas sales, we have a new price structure in place: AVGAS is now only R 15.80* per liter (for both members and non-members). Card fees are reduced from 5% to 3.5%. Free EFT facilities still available in the clubhouse. Free 330ml Cold drink and Chips still available for every 50 liters of Avgas, up to a maximum of 200L.

*Subject to fluctuating oil prices. The service fee for the pump attendant will remain unchanged.

Jaar-Eind Bring & Braai

Beste Klub lede en vriende,
In opvolg van die onlangse, en hoogs suksesvolle, Peter Hengst Gedenkdag en die EAA se Sun & Fun, waar ons klub nagenoeg 107 vliegtuie vir die naweek gehad het, asook die onlangse Kranskop Sweefklub se suksesvolle TMG dag, nooi ons u uit na Brits Vliegklub se jaareind funksie. Op Saterdag 12 Desember hou ons ‘n lekker Bring en Braai. Die klub sal bykosse verskaf. Hou solank hierdie middag en aand oop vir lekker klubvlieg en kuier vanaf 17h00.

Brits Flying Club has again had a busy and active year which is almost behind us. The successful Peter Hengst Memorial Fly-in and EAA Sun & Fun held on 14 November, as well as the KGC – SSSA Touring Motor Glider day on 28 November have again proven how vibrant Brits Flying Club is. Please join us on Saturday, 12 December, for our year-end Christmas Party. To allow for late afternoon flying, the party will only kick off from around 17h00. It will be in the form of a relaxed Bring&Braai. Salads, pap and gravy will be supplied by the club. Make sure you get this one in your diary. We are looking forward to seeing you.

Water Crisis

As a result of the continuing nationwide drought, our main borehole at the club is running dry. An immediate moratorium on any water-use, other than human consumption and sanitation, is hereby announced. No irrigation of gardens, no washing of aircraft, or cars, with a running hosepipe and no watering of lawns should be done. Help us to protect our dearest asset. Sinking a new borehole is extremely expensive, without any guarantee of finding water.

Please report any leaking pipes to Johan.
For those caring about their gardens and lawns, we urge you to consider rainwater harvesting by installing gutters and a JoJo reservoir. This will assist us immensely now and into the future.

We PLEASE need every club member’s cooperation on this one.

EAA 2015 Sun ‘n Fun Fly in

All are welcome at the fun filled weekend. Fly or drive and enjoy EAA camaraderie and hospitality, braais, delicious bush veld catering and rubberneck at the wide variety of plane. Neil Bowden’s Oshkosh Tour guests will hold a reunion over the weekend and there will be a mass fly-in of Slings. Take part in a Fun Fly Nav Adventure. Showcase your plane and more. B&B accommodation, camping on field approved and encouraged.

National Precision Flying Championships – Brits Airfield

Come support them in their quest to qualify for the SA World Championship team which will be announced after the event. The SA Team will be off in July 2015 to Skive Airport in Denmark for the 22nd World Precision Flying Championships. Our own club again has several contenders for the team title. Please come and show your support.

We invite all our club members and friends to join in a social gathering after the competitive flying on Saturday night. Be present when the World’s Team is announced and relax with everyone around the Kompas braai. Johan and Marinda are putting a braai and salads together and are ensuring that all drinks will be ice cold. Please RSVP before 15h00 on Friday 6th March 2015.
